About

History

Wankan Girls High School is a product of the Wankan Group of Schools which dated back to 1992 when it started in Zimmerman, Ruaraka. The main School was later moved to Ruiru in 1996 as a day and boarding, where there was more space leaving the original School at Zimmerman operating as a Primary day school.

Perfomance

Wankan Girls High School has maintained its lead in academic performance while offering a holistic development for our children.

Expansion

Wankan Girls has an ultra modern Olympic size swimming pool with its accessories i.e changing room; a facility which our children and the local community are really enjoying. We have invested in water harvesting which has seen an additional 200,000 litres of water to our storage. Our new electric generator continues to provide us with power whenever there is power shortage supply.

Environment

The School is keen and abreast with environmental issues. It has been one of the top environmentalists, having produced Miss and Master environment three times since the year 2003 in the Nationally organized Environment Competition by the Giraffe Center, Nairobi.

Past Students

We have kept a network of monitoring all our children who have joined Universities and Colleges. All our students have continued to shine in the Universities and have maintained good contact which is key to success.

Social Dimensions

The School has been supporting the bright and the needy in our society. We have continued to support the Kenya Heart National Foundation activities where the students walk to raise funds for children heart ailments. Our School also observes Fathers & Mothers day and invites professional counselors to give advice on good parenting.

Spiritual

All the main christian churches are given the opportunity to give children spiritual guidance. The PCEA Murera has been administering strongly to the children starting with catechism to confirmation. Our christian union is strong.
